Beginning Classes start every other month -- please
look at the Events Page for "Class Schedule
Updates" or call us for the next starting dates. Each beginning class is
designed as a complete introduction to Aikido. Whether or not you choose to
continue training, you will take with you from the class a basic understanding
of one of the most profound and graceful martial arts in the world.
General classes
are ongoing and are open to all students who have graduated from the beginning
class (minimum of 6 weeks Aikido classes).
Kids classes are for ages 6-9, Young people
classes are for ages 9-12, and Teen classes are for ages 13-18.
The Aikido classes for young people involve non-competitive Aiki games, stretching,
rolling, and Aikido partner practices. The emphasis throughout is on having fun
and learning cooperatively. Through these classes, young people develop
coordination, confidence, and respect for themselves and others.
Besides
these regular classes a number of special classes are offered at certain times
throughout the year, as well.
Out-of-town guests are
always very welcome to practice at Aikido of Santa Cruz. Please talk to the
Sensei about mat fees.
The release of liability
form is here if you wish to fill it out
ahead of time and bring it with you.
Visitors are always welcome!
