Aikido
of Santa Cruz Class Schedule![]()
Aikido of Santa Cruz offers a new beginning class for adults and teenagers every two months. Taught by black-belt instructors, each class encompasses the Aikido philosophy of nonviolence and its physical expression. In the class, you will learn to fall safely, to relax under pressure, to move fluidly with a partner, and to apply the principles of harmony to self-defense.
Beginning Classes start every other month -- please visit the Events page or call us for the next starting dates. Each beginning class is designed as a complete introduction to Aikido. Whether or not you choose to continue training, you will take with you from the class a basic understanding of one of the most profound and graceful martial arts in the world.
General classes are ongoing and are open to all students who have graduated from the beginning class (minimum of 6 weeks Aikido classes).
Kids classes
are for ages 6-9, Young
people classes
are for ages 9-12, and Teen
classes are for
ages 13-18.
The Aikido classes for young people involve
non-competitive Aiki games, stretching, rolling, and Aikido partner
practices. The emphasis throughout is on having fun and learning
cooperatively. Through these classes, young people develop
coordination, confidence, and respect for themselves and others.
